How do I measure a cylinder?
It's important you choose the right size cylinder for your door, so it fits properly. Product sizing is clearly displayed on each product page to help you find the right cylinder.
- Open your door and measure from the centre M5 screw on the side of the door, to the edge of your existing cylinder on the inside of your door. This is the 'B' measurement. For example, this might be 40mm.
- Then, measure from the centre M5 screw to the edge of your existing cylinder on the outside of your door. This is the 'A' measurement. For example, this might be 50mm
- Put these two measurements together to get the right size - your B measurement goes first e.g. 40/50.
Yale nightlatches
A nightlatch is operated by a key from the outside or a handle on the inside and immediately locks the door, to prevent it being left unlocked. Yale has a comprehensive range of nighlatches for all applications and security needs, including locks that meet BS3621 & BS 8621.
Choose the right backset: measure from the edge of the door to the centre of the keyhole. It's usually 40mm or 60mm.
