How long does it take to install a fitted kitchen?

The duration of the installation process will depend on the size and complexity of the project. For average-sized kitchens, we’d normally expect at least one week for the strip out of the old kitchen and the preparation and installation of the new one. Large kitchens with more complex designs may take 2-3 weeks but your Design Consultant can provide you a more accurate estimate.

Can I modify the design of a fitted kitchen once the installation has started?

It is possible to modify the design of a fitted kitchen during the installation process, but it may incur additional costs and delay the completion of the project. It’s best to finalise the design and make any necessary changes before the installation begins to avoid any complications. At Wickes, you can make changes to your design up to 2 weeks before delivery. Giving you plenty of time to think everything through.

Do I need to hire professionals to install a fitted kitchen?

While installing a fitted kitchen yourself is technically possible, we strongly recommend hiring professionals who specialise in kitchen installation or using one of our Wickes-approved kitchen installers for total confidence in the final finish. They have the skills and qualifications to complete all aspects of the installation including electrics, plumbing and tiling. This saves you time finding tradespeople and ensures a cohesive and streamlined approach to your kitchen installation.
