Different material options
Timber deckboards
- The classic option with a timeless natural look
- They’re pressure treated to extend their lifespan
- Designed to be reversible for easier, more versatile installation
- Can be painted for seamless integration with the rest of your outdoor area
- Requires treating or sealing for added protection
- Requires fairly frequent maintenance
Composite deckboards
- No need for staining or sealing
- Designed to be an environmentally friendly option
- Very little maintenance required with a surface that’s also easy to clean
- Resistant to mould, moisture, UV, fading and stains
- Can’t be painted or stained
- More expensive option compared to timber
Fittings
- Affix timber boards with steel decking screws
- Affix composite boards with specialist screws
- Come in a variety of sizes
- Single thread
- Made for exterior use
- Should be at least 2.5x longer than the thickness of your boards
